Active Directory auth not working
Hi,
Wondering if someone can help? We recently added 2 nodes to our Log Insight 4.0 cluster, going from 3 to 5 nodes, and expanded disks on the initial nodes so they all matched. All nodes show green and connected however we are having problems logging in to the cluster VIP using AD accounts which worked fine before all this. Logging into the individual appliance seems OK, maybe a bit slower. I paused the nodes one by one which moved the VIP around with no change. Presently the Master and VIP roles are on the same appliance. Logging in with local default admin is fine via the VIP.
If there is anything I can look into or more info I can provide, let me know?

Palo-Alto Networks PAN-OS Content Pack Slow.
Hi,
I'm trialling a vRealize Log Insight 4 deployment and have configured a POC environment which is ingesting very little data (approx 150 messages per second) from 8 ESXi hosts and a Palo Alto firewall.
The vRealize appliance was deployed with 8 vCPU's and 32GB vRAM. I can't remember if this was a medium or large deployment.
Anyway, the problem I'm having is that when trying to get the Palo-Alto dashboards to display >5 mins of data, they take ages to render. Even the 5 mins data dashboards take a few minutes to render.
There are <10 firewall events in total in the log insight database, but it is currently using all 8 vCPU's at 100% trying to render the dashboard each time. So far it has taken 20 minutes to render a 24 hour dashboard and it still isn't finished.
unfortunately, I cant log a support call as usual as its a trial installation. However, we're unlike to spend much further time trialling this product if we can't get it working.
For information, the other vSphere specific dashboards are working perfectly and quickly.
anyone have anything I can try before I approach my account manager?

New to Log Insight, can't get network to work
I have deployed my first Log Insight appliance, and am running into issues. I am hoping this is something simple, and would appreciate any suggestions:
I provided the IP address on our 10.2.73.x/24 network with a default gateway of 10.2.1.254. This is our standard server vLAN, and is a known-good configuration. Unfortunately, I cannot ping the appliance, and cannot ping the default gateway from the appliance. I can, however, ping another machine on the 10.2.73.x vLAN (that host uses the 10.2.1.254 d.g.) by IP but not name; cannot ping either DNS server.
I am just curious, does the appliance have some shortcoming when dealing with a default gateway on a different subnet? Or is there anything else I should be looking at in troubleshooting?

vSphere 3.6 Content Pack not loading
Hello,
I am using LogInsight v4.0 which is an upgrade from 3.6. I tried to load the vSphere 3.6 content pack and all I get is an error. Now, I should let you know it was loaded previously, but during the upgrade disappeared, actually, I went to the admin/ gui to look at things. But once I went there, I had to reset the entire LogInsight and that caused all my content packs to disappear, just not my data (thankfully).
Can someone point me to a logfile to look at to determine what is wrong? Is there a way to physically remove a content pack from the CLI, or to reset permissions. At a loss here. I really want that content pack back. All others loaded JUST fine.

Log Insight not deploying correctly. Just get an empty half blue screen
I have recently download a trial of Log Insight version 4. When i try to deploy it onto my VMware ESXi 6.5 server, it deploys fine, but when it starts, all i get is a blank screen, with the bottom half blue, and the top half black or dark gray. no writing on it.
I noticed in the video that i should get prompted during deployment to tell it what size of environment i want to commission, but that option is not there when i am deploying the downloaded image. It does ask me for a hoostname, which i notice it ignore when it turns on, as it calls itself Moltar or something.
Anyone any idea what is going on?

Issue with searching data and extracting fields
Hello,
I am having a bit of an issue with LI and the interactive analysis.
Basically what appears to have happened is I was importing my logs from my FTP server, i didn't like the format and fields so i changed it and now the data from my FTP logs is unusable. Any new data being ingested cannot be searched or have any fields extracted, but any data I had previously imported from a day or 2 ago appears to be working fine.
Anyone seen anything similar or have a solution? I cant seem to find a delete all button so that i can start with fresh data without having to set everything up again.

Get read/write latency on all Virtual Disks of a VM
Hi,
I'm trying to create a new dashboard which will give me the read and write latency of each VMDK of each VM.
I want it to be this way:
- Object list of all VMs
- When you click on a VM, all of it's Virtual Disks will appear in a new Object list.
- When you click on a Virtual Disk, a Trend View will appear with it's read and write Latency.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to (dynamically) list all VMDKs of a VM.
Is it possible?

Cannot see widgets on New Dashboard
Have deployed vROPs 6.4 in our environment and am trying to get to grips with it. I seem to have hit a bug similar to the one described under KB2122016 - only I have not upgraded anything (this is a fresh install). Have tried different browsers and different users but all get the same thing - you drop a widget in to a new dashboard and just get a blank white space. I cannot see the options to remove it, edit it or do anything with it. I can tell it is there because I can see a small grey chevron at the bottom right but that is it. Anyone seen this before or know how to resolve?
Also if there are any good beginner resources to tackle I am all ears

vRops Capacity remaining is showing ?
Hello Team,
I am facing issue while doing projects in one of environment. Memory and CPU is not able to configure properly. When i checked capacity remaining option it's showing Question Mark '?' symbol for all CPU/Memory/Disk Space for all objects. Due to this i am able to set projects for my environment. Can anybody how to resolve '?' symbol in vRops.

"Change Password" grayed out in vROPS 6.2
Has anyone else had the "Change Password" button in admin->User Preferences->Account grayed out? I'm trying to change the password while logged in as admin, and no dice. Thanks!
